Incoming Freshmen Night Program

Event Program

Parents of 8th grade students (Class of 2022):

You and your student are invited to participate in our annual Incoming Freshmen Night at 6:00pm on Tuesday, December 12, 2017.  The event will begin with the Curriculum, Activities, and Athletics fairs. During this time, parents and students may meet with teachers, department chairpersons, coaches and activity sponsors to learn more about the courses and programs offered at Conant.

Separate sessions for parents and students begin at 7:00pm.  Students will meet with high school student mentors in classroom settings.  They will participate in activities designed to acquaint students to programming and opportunities available at Conant.  The formal parent program will also begin at 7:00pm in the Plate Auditorium. The parent program will include an overview of the high school enrollment process, course planning and career pathways, and high school registration.  Results of your student’s placement test and career matchmaker inventory will also be distributed and explained at the event.

This month, your child will receive a copy of the District 211 Curriculum Guide and freshman course selection sheet from his/her junior high. Course selection sheets are due to Conant High School no later than Friday, December 15th and will be accepted during the Incoming Freshmen Night event.

Additionally, all registration and enrollment materials including the student enrollment form, original birth certificate, and proof of residency were due to Conant High School by October 20th.  If you have not yet submitted these items, please bring them to the high school as soon as possible.

A large turnout is anticipated for Incoming Freshmen Night.  We ask that the evening program be attended only by parents and current eighth graders.  Please arrive early to avoid parking congestion.
